   Royal Oak Shrine Catholic held off non-league foe Utica Ford II 50-47 in boys basketball action on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Shrine.

   Ford led 13-8 after one quarter. Shrine used a 14-9 run in the second quarter to tie the score at 22-22 at halftime.

   Senior Stephen Ruhle led Shrine with 21 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, and four blocks. Senior Jeff Andrus had 13 points and five assists. Senior Beck Peaslee added seven points and three steals.

   Ford was paced by senior Jacob Barrett with 18 points.

    Shrine (2-4) opens Catholic High School League Intersectional 1 Division play on Friday, Jan. 7, on the road against Madison Heights Bishop Foley (4-1).
