Grand Blanc downs Ann Arbor Huron to win first MHSAA championship

Grand Blanc won its first Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1 boys basketball championship, beating Ann Arbor Huron, 45-36. Huron led 30-29 after three quarters in a tight game, but Grand Blanc used a 16-6 fourth-quarter run to secure the victory. R.J. Taylor scored 15 points and added four assists and two rebounds. Timonte Boyd had 12 points and seven rebounds. Ty Rogers had nine points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Amont'e Allen-Johnson had six points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Box score

Grand Rapids Catholic Central finished a perfect season and won its first Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 boys basketball championship, pulling away in the second half to defeat Battle Creek Pennfield, 77-54. Kaden Brooks had 25 points and five rebounds. Jack Karasinski scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds. Burral Brooks had 10 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Flint Beecher  won its first Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 boys basketball championship since 2017, dominating Iron Mountain, 75-47. Keyon Menifield Jr. had 37 points, three steals, three rebounds, and two assists in the victory. Carmelo Harris had 16 points, three assists, and two steals. Detroit Douglass beats Wyoming Tri-unity Christian to win first MHSAA title

Detroit Frederick Douglass Academy for Young Men won its first Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 4 boys basketball championship, beating Wyoming Tri-unity Christian, 47-41. It was the first championship for a Detroit Public School League team since Detroit Henry Ford won the Class B title in 2016. Michigan State University-bound and Mr. Basketball candidate Pierre Brooks II scored 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and added five assists, two blocks, and two steals. Javantae Randle had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks. Alexander Wiltz and Malik Smith both added seven points in the victory.
