Detroit Denby's Delvon Dixon (1) scores against Detroit Central on Friday.

   Detroit Denby powered to a 72-45 boys basketball victory over Detroit Public School League East Division rival Detroit Central on Friday, March 5, at Central.

   Denby improved to 5-1 in league play and 5-5 overall with the win.

   The Tars led 36-20 at halftime and extended the lead to 60-39 after three quarters.

   Delvon Dixon led Denby with 16 points. Daquan Raheem scored 15 points. Anthony Harris had 12 points. Antione Harris scored 11 points and Kaveontai McDonald added 10 points in the balanced attack.

   Denby travels to Southfield Bradford Academy on Monday, March 8.
