    Detroit Loyola returned from a 19-day hiatus to power past Detroit Jalen Rose Leadership Academy 80-60 in a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3, District 90 semifinal on Thursday, March 25, at Detroit Central.

   Loyola (8-4) advances to face Detroit Community (5-7) in the district final on Saturday, March 27.

 

   Community beat Redford Westfield Preparatory 73-29 in the other semifinal.

   Junior Tyran Griffin led the Bulldogs with 21 points. Sophomore Amare Stevens scored 13 points. Sophomore Dashawn Martin totaled 12 points. Junior Anthony Garrett added 11 points in the victory.

   Loyola last played March 6, due to being on COVID-19 quarantine.
