   Dearborn Heights Robichaud pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Dearborn Advanced Technology Academy 48-43 on Saturday, March 27, to earn the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2, District 55 boys basketball championship.

   The Bulldogs led the Lakers 24-20 at halftime and extended the lead to 28-20 early in the third quarter. The Lakers used a 10-0 run to pull into the lead at 30-28. Keon Moore’s basket tied the score at 30-30 heading into the fourth.

   Robichaud turned up the defensive pressure and hit three three-pointers to pull away in the fourth quarter. Courtney Forehand scored six points and DeAndre Patrick scored five points in the quarter.

   Moore finished with 12 points to lead the Bulldogs. Patrick and Jaylen

 

Carter both scored nine points.

   Robichaud defeated Western Wayne Athletic Conference rival Dearborn Heights Annapolis 51-21 in the district semifinals on Thursday, March 25. Advanced Tech beat Detroit Voyageur Preparatory.67-51 in the other district semifinal.

   Robichaud last won a district title in 2012, reaching the quarterfinals.

   Robichaud (7-4) advances to face Detroit University Preparatory (10-9) in a Region 14 semifinal at Tecumseh on Tuesday, March 30. Romulus Summit Academy North (18-1) takes on Blissfield (13-2) in the other regional semifinal.

   Robichaud advanced to the District 55 championship game against Dearborn Divine Child last season before the pandemic forced cancellation of the playoffs.
